Verizon and HTC are having huge problems with keeping up with the high demand HTC Droid Incredible and the device has been in the shortage zone since release with the reason being supplies of the Super AMOLED display being in short supply from Samsung. According to an article over on Pocket Now by way of Electronista , Verizon has now pushed back the availability of the HTC Droid Incredible until the 4th of August, 3 weeks after the release of the Motorola Droid X.
The word hitting the net waves is that the first Windows Phone 7 to be launched by HTC will be the HTC Gold smartphone, and along with that news there is also leaked info on the UK launch date for the device. According to Ben Sillis of Electric Pig , phone website Omio got hold of an HTC roadmap to do with launches in the United Kingdom for the rest of 2010 and confirms that the Windows Phone 7 packing HTC Gold will launch in the UK sometime in November. Unfortunately and expected there is no word on any specs for the HTC Gold as they are being kept under tight wraps for the time being.
Although Google hasn’t made any official announcement as to when Android user will see Android 3.0 Gingerbread hit devices it is rumoured Android users shouldn’t expect the next version of the operating system until sometime in 2011. The other day I posted the iPhone 4 vs. HTC EVO 4G video which was made by a Best Buy employee, you can view that video ( here ) and as a result of that video Best Buy suspended the employee while they investigated the situation. Now according to an article over on Techfreqnews , Best Buy has completed their investigation and has offered Brian Maupin reinstatement as apparently their investigation wasn’t over that particular video but other videos in his collection that apparently referenced Best Buy in a comical manner, and now said offending videos have been taken down.
Word is Verizon is shipping the Motorola Droid X smartphone out to some customers early with said customers brow beating customer service or locating a rep that doesn’t realise they should be selling the device at the moment.
